Thunder trades Boron, Truelson to Mississippi for three players

The Wichita Thunder traded disgruntled goaltender Tim Boron and defenseman Kevin Truelson to the Mississippi RiverKings today for three players.

Acquired were defenseman Steve Makway, forward Kevin Cooper and goalie Ian Keserich.

Boron had been placed on suspension by the Thunder after requesting a trade.

Makway ranks third among Central Hockey League defensemen with 24 points. Cooper has four goals and four assists in 11 games. He was with the Texas Brahmas earlier this season before joining Mississippi.

Keserich was 3-1-1 for Mississippi with a 2.55 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. The three are expected to dress for Thursday's game against Allen at the Kansas Coliseum

Boron (1-3, 5.00 GAA, .828 save percentage) has had continued hip problems this season, appearing in four games. Truelson compiled four points in 12 games and was a minus-11.

The Thunder plays host to Rapid City at 7:05 tonight in the Coliseum.
