In Tuesday night's volleyball match against Bishop Carroll, the Kapaun Mount Carmel girls just weren't on offensively.
Meanwhile, the Eagles definitely were. Even missing one of its top hitters in Sarah Waterson, who was out with an illness, the Carroll offense was clicking.
Carroll defeated Kapaun 25-20, 25-13 and defeated East 25-16, 25-15. Kapaun defeated East 25-13, 25-8.
With a two-game lead and four matches left in the City League, Carroll improved to 9-0 in league play and put itself in the driver's seat for the CL title.

"Every game is just another game," Carroll hitter Nicole Walden said. "We can only take it one at a time. The next big one is at Heights and we'll be ready."
Carroll had to switch some spots up because of Waterson's absence and several hitters stepped up.
Walden was one of those, finishing the match with eight kills. Danika Maggard had a team-high 10 kills, including six in the last game.
"Nicole Walden stepped up, she kind of took control tonight, she did very well and had a good game," Carroll coach Rita Mernagh said.
The first game was very close at the start. Kapaun tied it 9-9 on Jenny Gerlach's kill. Carroll then went on a 6-0 run led by Chloe Nicholas' serve.
Kapaun would get as close as 16-15 with a 5-0 run, but Carroll closed it out with Emmie Rech's tip over the net and into an open space on Kapaun's side.
"We seem to not just be able to pick it up and get it going," Hessman said. "We are in a little bit of a funk. We just have to be able to figure out how we play well together as a team and get things going again."
In the second game, Leah Grant tipped a ball over the net for Kapaun that ended a long point and pulled the Crusaders to 10-8 and grabbed a little momentum for Kapaun.
However, Carroll answered with another 6-0 run that put the Eagles up for good. Carroll ended the match with five kills in the final nine points.
"Everybody has off-days and on-days and this was luckily an on day for me and I was ready to build off it," Walden said.
