There are not enough jobs for both men and women – never have been and probably never will be.
“Tallgrass” once simply meant a classy area of northeast Wichita. Now it describes too many locations in Wichita that need to be mowed, many of them the responsibility of the city. Our town looks abandoned.
It seems the main businesses being built lately are health care facilities and financial institutions.
What is up with all these Oklahoma-tagged vehicles in the city? There are three on my block alone. One even proudly proclaims their child is an honor student at a local school. Talk about a way to fix the state deficit. Just go after these tax dodgers.
Kansas will never recoup the millions of dollars of revenue we will lose while waiting for the “sun to shine.”
It is not a big deal that Scott Walker lacks a college degree. After all, Charles and David Koch both have master’s degrees from MIT, and they would be calling the shots. Walker will be just fine as long as he remembers his place.
Please do not vote for Hillary Clinton just so you can say that “we put a woman in the White House during my lifetime.” An honest and more qualified woman will emerge, and that woman will ride the wave of enthusiasm all the way to the White House.
Clinton is worth millions of dollars, so why doesn’t she provide her own security instead of the Secret Service? Why should wives of former presidents even get such protection at a cost of millions?
Our politicians against clean-air policy should have had my view from the Boeing complex in 1979. We could locate downtown Wichita by the black cloud to the northwest. But they have their minds made up and can’t be bothered by the facts.

The millennials want to be entertained. Eating out is a social event to them. We need more bike paths and parks, and what about a much-needed aquarium? Quality of life is more important than sitting and watching TV.
After seeing an irresponsible woman talking on her phone and putting on makeup with a baby in the car, I had an idea: Put your cellphone in the backseat. That is a guarantee you won’t leave your child in a hot car and will be more attentive on the road.
