The Republican presidential candidates think that just because the Three Stooges could use the same story lines more than once, they can, too. And just like the Stooges, they’re hired again and again.
After watching the first Republican debate, I realize that except for the few who want to legalize the border-crossing criminals, any of the candidates are far more qualified to be president than Obama is or can ever hope to be.
Let’s put Donald Trump’s comments about women in perspective. We all know if President Obama had made statements like that about women, Republicans would have been mortified. They would try to impeach him. Yet Trump is still presidential. Such hypocrisy.
For years conservatives have said that Obama’s apologizing for America’s actions was a sign of weakness and disrespect. So why now should Trump apologize for something he says? Apparently only a wuss says “I’m sorry.”
For the past several years the television networks have conditioned viewers to gobble up reality TV. Now that Donald Trump has arrived on the scene, the networks are complaining about being forced to reap what they sowed.
How do we narrow the field in the GOP presidential race? Obviously, we get rid of the “birthers” first. They’re a bunch of wackos. Next, let’s eliminate the supply-siders. Kansans already know how that doesn’t work. That leaves us with … nobody. I’ll vote for that.

War with Iran is the customary straw man for rejecting Obama’s crummy treaty. The world had another crummy agreement to inspect Iraq’s nuclear facilities. Saddam led inspectors all over the desert. It was that crummy agreement that led to war.
I predict our country’s race violence will greatly increase as the Democrats gin up their base for the next election.
Is this what we have to look forward to in Ferguson, Mo., every year to honor a criminal?
In Monday’s Eagle there were 13 shooting deaths reported around the nation and state. Thank goodness we had our lawmakers make concealed-carry and open-carry legal.
The intended purpose of a car is to transport people and things. The intended purpose of a gun is to injure or kill living things. This is why deaths caused by cars and deaths caused by guns cannot be equated.
The phrase “nattering nabobs of negativism” was originally used by Vice President Spiro Agnew to describe the media. Today it’s a perfect description for the ruling majority of our county commissioners, especially Chairman Richard Ranzau. I agree it’s time for a recall on Ranzau.
