If you want to run your own show, don’t buy where an HOA or condominium association is in place. Follow the rules or move, but please quit complaining about something that you should have known up front.
Thoughtless people put up bright/blinding LED lights in front and in back, which ruins a neighbor’s enjoyment of a porch or a patio in the evening. An HOA is a good thing. Read it and be a good neighbor.

We live in a HOA community. Never, never again. If we were to move, would rather live in a tent than ruled by dictatorship also known as HOA.
Apparently the members of the Country Club Court Estates HOA show more allegiance to “protecting people’s property values” than their neighbor’s feelings. How pathetic. By the way, it’s a nice looking lamp.
