It’s audacity, stupidity or both to think that the city would send out street cleaners to clean up your fireworks debris. Clean it up yourself.
The city needs new revenue for projects like a new library. Surely the legal folks can find a way to tax the churches within the city limits. There are too many churches in this town of the same denomination. More than three, and they should be taxed as regular property.

The Kansas Legislature is so shortsighted. Lawmakers want to give Gov. Sam Brownback sweeping powers to appoint judges. They don’t think that in the future, Kansans will elect someone from the other party.
Once again I am embarrassed to be from Kansas, first because of its science deniers and now because it’s rated the second most dangerous place to be a woman.
Please, somebody, anybody, run against Brownback. I will donate campaign money, do campaign volunteer work and deliver at least 100 votes from my family, friends and employees.
It’s time for state college students to vote with their feet against outrageous tuition hikes. Tuition goes up because customers don’t rebel. Start using junior colleges more, and the four-year schools will feel the pinch.
I am pleased that Pennsylvania’s shameful lawsuit against the NCAA was dismissed. Penn State deserved the NCAA sanctions for shielding a child predator and covering up crimes against children.
The question I have for those in Washington is: Why should our country borrow money to send to Egypt?

The T-shirt’s 100th anniversary is nothing to celebrate. A T-shirt should only be worn under a dress shirt or while mowing the lawn. These days it is seen at church, weddings and funerals, making the wearers look sloppy and uncaring.
