I am a huge WSU Shocker basketball fan and was thrilled by the NCAA Tournament run and how this city got behind the team. Now I hope we do the same thing for the baseball team. Get your baseball champion shirts. Way to go, Shocker baseball and coach Gene Stephenson.
Congratulations to the baseball Shockers on making the NCAA Tournament. I will now stop complaining about Stephenson.

The Frankenstein’s monster that Gov. Sam Brownback built – aka the Kansas House – is a horrible creature with a destructive bent that has turned on its creator. Too bad the villagers it and its creator are terrorizing – the citizens who pay the taxes – can’t kill it until 2014.
I work for one of those small businesses that no longer has to pay state income taxes. My boss is not going to hire more employees or give raises to existing ones. Economic growth? Not in our world.
Apparently it takes nine Wichita cops to set up a seat-belt trap. It looks to me like they could put their time to better use than by stopping people for a $10 ticket. And, no, I didn’t get stopped.
Some of the big unions want the health care law either redone or repealed. They must not have gotten what they thought they were going to get. Now they know how the rest of us feel. It’s hard to imagine they were lied to, also.
This administration isn’t the first to trample the Constitution. However, I challenge all to take an objective look at its actions and compare them with King George’s transgressions enumerated in the Declaration of Independence. If you don’t see similarities, you aren’t looking very hard.
I am really concerned about all of the liberal operatives in this country, and in our government.
In USD 259, administrators, teachers, support staff and now bus drivers all receive training in “managing student behavior.” Anyone else see a missing piece here?
To coaches of children’s sports: If a child is not good enough to play on your team, do not let the parents donate to your team and spend money on hotels and gas, just so they can watch your kid play every game while their child warms the bench.
