So an advisory committee projects an increase of 56 percent in water and sewer rates over the next 10 years. Unless you are an executive at Hawker Beechcraft, you likely don’t see 5.6 percent increases in your wages each year. How can a person keep up with the constant increases in our utilities?
Is there any oversight to these ridiculous water-rate increases? Is the city trying to force senior citizens out of their homes? Adding fluoride to the water would further increase rates or taxes. How incompetent and ridiculous can this situation get?

The attendance at the recent Kansas Gas Service rate hearing in Wichita was a civic disgrace. We have “educated” the Afghan forces for more than five years. It’s time for graduation. Bring all of our troops home now.
For the cost of reinforcing the Gulf Coast levees, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers could have relocated New Orleans and coastal towns inland. Hurricanes then would be nonevents. It is obvious that Mother Nature is relentless in reclaiming the wetlands.
We are in the fourth year of the Obama-Biden-Reid-Pelosi economic downturn. It is time to get rid of the people causing the problem. Dump Obama and Biden.
