The GOP has no plan to improve health care, and the Democrats have no plan to save Medicare and Social Security. That’s pretty amazing considering that these have been hot-button issues for years and are of paramount interest to America and Americans.
I’m over 50 and I am voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. Anyone who doesn’t is either on the government take or needs his head examined.

There are those of you who are so opposed to President Obama being re-elected that you don’t care what the Republican agenda is. Take time to read and listen to what they’re proposing. Is this how you want to live?
The liberal Republicans are crying in their sour grape drinks because the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and businesses helped in the conservatives’ campaigns, but they are strangely silent about the massive amounts the gambling industry and unions spent to try to retain the so-called “moderates.”
So the researchers found massive voter fraud in the United States: one potential fraudulent voter for every 15 million legal voters. Sounds like the Republicans had a solution in search of a problem. Couldn’t have anything to do with suppressing minority voters?
The school bus situation is getting out of hand. Nearly $26 million for school buses this year with a 9 percent increase is outrageous. It needs to be trimmed down.
The USD 259 bus routes need a complete do-over. To have 60 buses for Northeast Magnet High School is crazy. A bus for every 10 kids makes no sense at all.
Have you seen the new suburban high schools? They are built on acres and acres of land, and the facilities rival junior colleges. No wonder our property taxes skyrocket when one of these schools is built.
The teachers have more than sacrificed the past four years. They sacrifice their home lives every day. They’re in early and stay late tutoring or coaching other people’s kids, grading papers and holding parent conferences. A 50 percent raise wouldn’t be enough, but I’m glad they got something.
If you get to the checkout and discover you have an item you don’t want, please hand it to the cashier. Quit disrespecting store workers by “stuffing” it in the candy or magazine rack.
