Another so-called gay-rights ordinance, this time in Hutchinson. Ever notice that “gay” or “homosexual” is never mentioned – just sexual orientation? I guess that means if such an ordinance does not pass, one can be fired or kicked out for being heterosexual. It’s not about “special” rights.
State-sanctioned marriage? Yes. Church-sanctioned marriage? No.
I do not believe that anyone is born homosexual. While living in California, I knew people personally who announced that they were homosexual, lived the gay lifestyle for several years, and then returned to living a straight lifestyle.
It seems that everyone wants to blame President Obama for something. Do they not realize that he is merely the puppet and not the puppet master?
Obama shouldn’t take credit for taking out Osama bin Laden? Then Jimmy Carter shouldn’t be blamed for the failed Iranian hostage rescue mission.
Poor teachers. No raise? Welcome to the real world. A lot of people haven’t had raises in years. Ask someone who is unable to find a job, any job, if he feels sorry for you.
I believe “illegal” is illegal, no matter what the lawyers think. We owe illegals nothing as a country. If you are not here legally, get out of the USA. Shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message.
Do all the members of the Legislature who live within easy driving distance of Topeka claim the same housing expenditures that a colleague from St. Francis or Elkhart might need? The Johnson County legislators who sleep at home need to reimburse the taxpayers for any phony expenses.
Ultraconservatives in this state want to “starve the beast” through tax cuts. Of course, they forget that the “beast” is programs that benefit their fellow citizens, the same citizens they aren’t listening to as they pass their voodoo economic tax cuts. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Hooray for orange cones. They mean better streets and smoother traffic flow next year. I wish they would hurry and start the next phase of West Kellogg.
I visited the Sedgwick County tag and registration office. With the newly updated computer system and 13 people in front of me, I made it through in 76 minutes. Understaffing cannot be acceptable for such a constantly used facility. There were 27 people in line after me.
