In only three weeks, the NCAA was able to select the best basketball team in the country from nearly 350 athletic programs. In about 21/2 years, the Republicans are barely able to select the least-objectionable candidate in an attempt to unseat the incumbent.
So now the International Monetary Fund needs “more resources” to prop up the failing, spendthrift economies of Greece, Portugal, Italy, etc. This is just welfare on an international scale, and I am tapped out.

The U.S. Supreme Court is deciding the constitutionality of the health care law. Justice Elena Kagan worked for the Obama administration, celebrated the law’s passage in an e-mail and advised on litigation strategy, and is now serving on our highest court. This is absolutely wrong.
Cal Thomas is only half right (April 4 Opinion). We need universal health care, so people see a doctor before they get sick, and a surcharge for folks who drink, smoke and eat too much. Without a monetary incentive, people will not change the habits that lead to most diseases.
