Irresponsible, big-spending governments around the globe are causing a worldwide financial meltdown. The results are riots in Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy and massive demonstrations in Russia. If our irresponsible politicians do not change course, there is little to prevent the same here.

The key words for a bill to pass the Legislature are “anti-abortion,” “gun rights” and “voter fraud.”
Anyone who believes that a particular amount of money will magically take care of the schools should review the history of the Kansas City, Mo., school district, which spent unlimited dollars to no effect.
Before we condemn, ridicule and show contempt for those who have differing opinions and lifestyles from our own, maybe we should walk a mile in their shoes. The city of Wichita needs to concentrate on streets that really need to be fixed. I hit a pothole in the 1200 block on North Woodlawn, and my car had to be towed away. I wonder is the city will pay for my new tires and alignment.

During an elementary school program, children were running up and down wooden bleachers and playing ball on the gymnasium floor.
