For the past 35 years, the Wichita city government has mismanaged its transit system. Now it is trying to tell the taxi companies what they can and cannot do. Is Wichita a free market? More and more regulations equal a government-run market. Is this really what Wichitans want?
A New York City taxi driver’s license costs thousands of dollars, while a fleet license costs a cool $1 million. Wichita charges just $7.50 for a taxi driver’s license and $200 for a fleet license. Is it asking too much for the local drivers to at least wear shirts?
I think the city of Wichita ought to take care of its own business instead of trying to run taxicabs and everything else.
I want to know how much tax money and staff hours were used in producing the video to respond to Jimmy Kimmel. Were city bureaucrats used in making this video? If so, let’s cut the positions and use the money for the buses.
