Property owners and renters: Beware of Gov. Sam Brownback’s agenda to eliminate the state income tax and underfund education. This will then make it necessary for school districts to raise property taxes, thus also creating higher rents. He should be called the Kansas “defunder.” Next election he should be called “defunct.”
Teachers haven’t had a raise in four years, and the administrators want them to buy new clothes other than jeans. How long has it been since administrators have had a raise? I wonder.
I long for the good old days when unemployment was less than 5 percent, the price of oil was less than $50 per barrel, the federal budget deficit was less than $150 billion, the GDP was growing at a 3.2 percent rate, and my 401(k) was twice what it is now. Van Halen is touring in 2012. Will they be playing at our downtown arena?
I have been to both Koch Arena and Intrust Bank Arena, and have heard the comments on how cramped the seats are at both. I am 6 feet 7 inches tall, and I can tell you Koch Arena is the worst. At Intrust, I can keep my legs behind the seat below. Don’t let anyone tell you how bad Intrust seats are.
Time to move on to the next commercialized holiday, the dreaded Valentine’s Day.
I don’t tweet. I leave that for the birds.
