Of course board approved two-tiered voting in Kansas

It was no surprise that the state’s Rules and Regulations Board decided Tuesday to allow a convoluted (and likely unconstitutional) voting scheme in which some Kansans will be able to vote in federal but not state and local elections. The Republican-only board seems to rubber-stamp whatever Secretary of State Kris Kobach wants. Still, it was disappointing that the board didn’t allow public comment before it voted. It’s also disappointing that Attorney General Derek Schmidt, who had a representative from his office lead the board meeting, won’t speak up for the rights of Kansas voters. – Phillip Brownlee
