Kudos to Sedgwick County Treasurer Linda Kizzire and the Sedgwick County Commission on the completion of a new main tag office. Unlike the old and outdated facility at 200 W. Murdock, the new office in the former Dillons store at Douglas and Meridian is roomy and has plenty of parking. It also has a public restroom, public Wi-Fi access and the QLess Wait Line Management System. Equally important, the Kansas Highway Patrol has moved its vehicle ID inspections to the new site. A tag office is not normally a cause for celebration. But as County Commission Chairman Jim Howell said at the ribbon cutting Thursday, “This is a huge deal.” – Phillip Brownlee
