Charles Koch concerned about policies, not party label

Koch Industries chief executive Charles Koch startled many people when he suggested recently that Democrat Hillary Clinton might make a better president than any of the Republicans vying for the job. He clarified that comment in an interview with the Washington Post, saying that he focuses on policies, not party labels. “What I was trying to say is, if Hillary had policies that would more likely make people’s lives better than Republicans, I’d be for Hillary. I’m for whoever will do that.” But Koch said it was “highly remote” that he would support Clinton. As for the troubling possibility of a Donald Trump presidency, given the offensive tenor of his campaign, Koch offered this small hope: “The good and the bad news is that politicians very rarely do what they say they’re going to do when they campaign.” – Phillip Brownlee
