Since when does being too poor to afford anything mean you “qualify” for everything for free? Since America lost its way. If you can’t afford something, you learn to do without. That’s the way back.

Memo to Sen. Jerry Moran: Americans’ faith in the IRS will be restored only after the employees guilty of targeting conservative groups for abuse lose their jobs and government pensions and are prosecuted.

Why are you in such a hurry to go to war with Russia? Haven’t we been at war long enough? If Crimeans vote to be a part of Russia, who are we to keep them from doing it?

If you camp out at Walmart for an HDTV, you are a good consumer. If you camp out for social justice, you are a dirty anarchist hippie and will be maced.

One way to view the new Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport: Since the state’s politics have also gone back 50 years, the new name is very appropriate.

Putting “Wichita” in front of Eisenhower’s name is like putting a wart on the end of Eisenhower’s nose.

It’s ironic to see all the whining about $140,000 being spent on the airport name change. Where were these people when it was decided to spend more than $100 million on the new terminal?

Prediction: Travelers will shorten the name Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport to “E Port.”

It will be either “Ike Airport” or “EiseNat.”

First I saved 15 percent in 15 minutes. Then even more in 7 1/2 minutes. Next I saved $395 for being retired. Then I got a check every six months without an accident. My auto insurance is free now. Is this a great country or what?

I noticed on my drive to work that the old Holiday Inn building downtown was lit up in gold. I love how this city is coming together. Thank you, Shockers.

Why doesn’t The Eagle do cover stories or reviews of the plays at Wichita Center for the Arts? It does remarkable work and is sadly overlooked.

I hate getting one less hour over the weekend. From now on, we should set the clock forward one hour in the middle of the workday on Friday.
