Wichita weather: Isolated showers possible this weekend

There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Wichita area this weekend, forecasters say, but any rain should be scattered.

Highs will be in the upper 80s on a partly sunny day Saturday, with light southerly winds in the single digits. Sunday should be similar, with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 80s.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms will persist deep into next week, forecasters say, with highs in the upper 80s. The storms will be more isolated than they were over the past few days, according to the National Weather Service, but a strong storm or two with heavy rains will still be possible.
