More than 4 inches of rain fell in far western Sedgwick County and 3 inches fell in Wichita over a 24-hour period ending at about dawn on Monday, the National Weather Service reported.
Most of that rain fell early Monday morning, according to the agency. The precipitation reporting site CoCoRahs indicated more than 2 inches of rain fell in northwest Harvey County, and more than 3 inches fell in northwest Cowley County.
Although there’s a slight chance of rain early Tuesday morning, forecasters say hot and humid weather will arrive later Tuesday and is expected to stick around for a few days.
