Morning showers should skirt just west of Wichita this morning, forecasters say, but rain can be expected late Thursday.
Western fringes of the metropolitan area could see rain this morning, before clouds scatter and temperatures soar into the low 90s. Winds will be calm early before stirring a little out of the east later in the day.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely late tonight and early Friday, forecasters say, with winds staying light and variable. Rain chances continue through the morning hours Friday, then return early Saturday morning.

Highs on Friday will be in the mid-80s, with light winds out of the north. The weekend will see a heat wave arrive on Sunday, with highs in the mid- to upper 90s.
