Wichita is likely to hit 100 for the fifth time this year on Wednesday, forecasters say.
The heat index is expected to climb above 105 today in the region, according to the National Weather Service. Sunny skies and south winds in the teens and gusting to more than 20 miles an hour will help give the day its personality.
More 100s are expected Thursday and Friday, forecasters say. A heat advisory remains in effect for the Wichita metropolitan area and much of southern Kansas until 8 p.m. Friday.
