Wichita weather on Tuesday: Sunny and warmer

It’ll be sunny and warmer Tuesday in the Wichita area, forecasters say.

It’ll also be windier, with south-southwest winds in the teens gusting to about 30 miles an hour at times. Highs should reach the mid-50s, forecasters say.

Overnight lows will settle in the mid-30s, and Wednesday will be colder again with a chance of light snow. Highs will not make it out of the 30s, forecasters say, and northerly winds will intensify as the day goes on. Gusts could top 30 miles an hour by late afternoon and evening.

Not much snow is expected in the Wichita area — perhaps a half-inch, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday is shaping up to be sunny but cold, with highs only in the mid-30s. A warming trend starts Friday, however, and stretches through early next week.
