Another temperature record is likely to fall in Wichita on Tuesday as an unseasonably warm spell continues in the area.
Forecasters say today’s high should reach the low 70s in Wichita, which would break the record high for Jan. 27 of 69, set just two years ago. Skies will be clear, with light and variable winds occasionally pushing into the mid-teens.
Monday’s high of 74 broke the previous mark of 69 set in 1953.
Overnight lows will settle in the low 40s, and forecasters say Wednesday will offer one more helping of 70s before much colder air arrives. Highs will drop to the 40s on Thursday and rain and snow are possible this weekend.
