It’ll be about 20 degrees colder in Wichita today than it was on Monday, forecasters say.
Considering that Monday’s high climbed into the 70s, however — setting a new record for the date in the process — that’s not entirely a bad thing. There will be a slight chance of showers into the early afternoon in south-central Kansas, forecasters say, as temperatures top out in the low 50s.
Skies will begin to clear later in the day, with winds remaining light and variable throughout. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 20s. Wednesday will be chillier, with highs in the upper 40s under mostly sunny skies. But that’s near normal for late January.
Thursday will offer sunshine and more 40s before temperatures begin moving upward again for the weekend’s arrival.
