Wichita is getting a welcome reprieve Friday morning from the robust winds of earlier this week, but forecasters say they’ll return by this afternoon.
Temperatures should reach the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. South winds that are now in the low single digits will intensify into the teens and low 20s by this afternoon, with gusts topping 30 miles an hour.
Chances for rain arrive early Saturday morning, forecasters say, with lows in the mid-40s and winds easing to the teens. Gusts will still be pushing into the mid-20s.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy, forecasters say, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Rain and snow are possible late Saturday night and Easter Sunday. Highs should recover to the mid-50s.
