Dense fog could inhibit the morning commute in the Wichita area on Monday, forecasters say.

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. for at least 50 counties in eastern Kansas, including the Wichita metropolitan area. Visibility is down to a quarter-mile.

Once the fog finally lifts late in the morning, forecasters say, sunny skies will predominate and temperatures should jump into the low 80s. Winds will pick up as the day goes along,

South-southeast winds will be in the teens, gusting late in the day above 25 miles an hour. Overnight lows will drop to the low 50s.

Tuesday will be cooler, forecasters say, with highs in the upper 60s. It’ll be breezy, too, with steady winds in the 20s and gusts topping 30 miles an hour.

Wednesday is likely to offer more of the same, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-60s.
