Wednesday will be much warmer than Tuesday was in the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say.
Highs under partly sunny skies are expected to reach 70, with south winds intensifying through the day from the teens in the morning to the 20s in the afternoon. Gusts could climb into the upper 30s.
A burn ban remains in effect through Friday in Wichita and Sedgwick County due to the dry conditions and low humidity. Winds will remain gusty overnight, forecasters say, easing slightly on Thursday as the clouds clear and temperatures climb into the low 60s. Gusts will still push into the mid-20s, though.
Friday and Saturday look to offer more sunshine and highs in the upper 60s, forecasters say.
