More wintry precipitation is on the menu for the Wichita area Wednesday, forecasters say.
Light rain early Wednesday afternoon will change to snow later, with flurries continuing off and on through Thursday afternoon or evening. Wichita could see an inch or two of snow before it ends, with areas along I-70 in northern Kansas receiving 3 or 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
The Wichita metropolitan area was spared an icy commute Wednesday morning, with a few accidents reported but nothing unusual for any given workday, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatch supervisor said.
Highs Wednesday should climb into the mid- to upper 30s under cloudy skies, forecasters say, with similar temperatures expected on Thursday.
More 30s are expected on Friday before a warming trend arrives over the weekend.
