After its coldest night of the season, sunshine and southwest winds will help Wichita rebound to a warmer Friday.
Lows fell to 17 early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Wichita hasn’t been that cold since last March 5 – more than 300 days ago, said Vanessa Pearce, a meteorologist with the local branch of the weather service.
Highs are expected to reach the mid-40s, with those winds blowing steadily in the teens and gusting to more than 25 miles an hour. The weekend will be even warmer, forecasters say, with highs in the low 50s on Saturday and the low 60s on Sunday.
Partly cloudy skies are expected through the period.
