Wichita weather for Wednesday: Colder, windier

Courtesy of National Weather Service

Colder temperatures and biting northerly winds have arrived in Wichita.

Highs will only be in the mid-40s today and the upper 30s on Thursday, forecasters say, with gusty west-northwest winds reaching the mid-20s today and the low 20s on Thursday. Mostly sunny skies are expected both days.

As chilly as today will feel to Wichitans, the mid-40s are merely in line with seasonal averages.

Friday will see the start of a warming trend, with highs in the 40s. Temperatures could reach 60 by Sunday, forecasters say. Partly to mostly sunny skies are anticipated through the period.
