Wichita weather: Clearing skies and plenty of wind

Cloudy skies early should gradually clear on a windy day Wednesday in the Wichita area, forecasters say.

Highs are expected to once again reach the mid-70s, with gusty south winds topping 30 miles an hour at times. Clouds will roll in overnight, forecasters say, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms before dawn. Lows won’t drop out of the 60s.

Thursday could be rainy early in the day in the Wichita area, forecasters say, before skies begin to clear. Highs on Thursday will be in the low 70s, with much cooler temperatures after the front moves through.

Highs on Friday will be in the low 60s, with 50s projected for weekend highs.
