There’s a slight chance for rain through Tuesday morning in south-central Kansas, including the Wichita area.
But any sprinkles won’t amount to much, forecasters say. Skies will clear later on a breezy afternoon, with highs reaching the low 80s. South winds will be in the teens, with gusts topping 30 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will only drop to the low 60s, forecasters say, with chances for rain returning to the forecast on Wednesday and lingering for the next several days.
The best chances for rain in the Wichita area will be Thursday night into Friday morning, said Vanessa Pearce, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Wichita could receive upwards of 1.5 inches of rain by the time the pattern ends next weekend, she said, with higher amounts west of Wichita.
