Wichita weather: Temperatures nearing normal range

Temperatures will continue crawling toward seasonal norms on Thursday, forecasters say.

Highs should reach the upper 40s under mostly sunny skies in the Wichita area. Winds will be light out of the southeast, staying in single digits.

Freezing drizzle is possible early Friday morning, when lows will drop to the low 30s. Those chances will persist through the morning commute, so motorists will need to be alert.

Highs Friday are expected to reach the mid-40s as light rain and drizzle dampen the area, forecasters say. The weekend will be gray, with chances for rain on Saturday and highs on both days in the mid-50s.
