One more round of October 80s is on tap for the Wichita area Thursday before a cool front drops temperatures to more autumnal levels.
Sunshine will be abundant and winds will increase in intensity as the day goes on, forecasters say. East winds in the single digits early in the day will strengthen to the teens by afternoon and gust to nearly 30 miles an hour at times.
There’s a slight chance of rain in the metropolitan area late tonight, forecasters say, with much cooler temperatures Friday and Saturday. Highs on those two days will be in the mid-60s under mostly sunny skies, before temperatures warm into the 70s Sunday and early next week.
