Wichita weather: Cold to persist, wind to ease a little

Unseasonably cold temperatures will continue to hound Kansas on Thursday, including the Wichita area.

But at least the bitter winds should ease somewhat, forecasters say.

Highs may not even reach 30 in Wichita on Thursday, a good 20 degrees below normal for mid-November. But after routinely gusting to more than 20 mph – and often 30 – the past few days, north winds will barely touch double digits on a mostly sunny day, forecasters say.

Lows will again dive into the teens and Friday won’t be a great deal warmer. Highs may reach the mid-30s, forecasters say. The weekend has snow in the forecast. Stay tuned for accumulation projections.

It may be a dusting for Wichita or it may be an inch or two.
