There may be a few more sprinkles during the peak of the morning rush hour before skies slowly begin to clear in the Wichita metropolitan area Friday, setting the stage for a pleasant day.
Highs should reach the low 70s, forecasters say, with light winds out of the north.
Wichita officially logged .62 of an inch since rain began falling after sunset on Thursday, said Jaclyn Ritzman, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. Portions of southern Kansas near the Oklahoma border could see more rain today as the front slides south.
Skies will be mostly clear by tonight, allowing lows to flirt with the 40s. Saturday will offer more sunshine and highs in the upper 70s, forecasters say.
