Weather as a Halloween costume? You bet

There were plenty of ghosts, goblins, witches and celebrities among the costumes for Halloween last week.

Believe it or not, there were a few weather-related costumes, too.

Drawing on a scene from the movie “Twister,” noted storm chaser Reed Timmer dressed as a cow being chased by his fiancee, Maria Molina, dressed as a tornado.

Closer to home, 8-year-old Gage Schlageck, a third-grader at Hyde Elementary, dressed as Sharknado. It’s a pretty clever costume.

Local hair stylist Leslie Stuart put together a costume she called “Partly Cloudy With a Chance of Thunderstorms.”

The rain, she explained, came from a water bottle she would spritz on people every now and then.

The closest I ever came to wearing a weather-related Halloween costume was probably when I went to a Halloween dance dressed as the scarecrow from “The Wizard of Oz.”
