The weekend may have felt like summer in the Wichita area, but autumn returns early this week.

A cold front will push through the region late Monday afternoon, forecasters say, dropping temperatures toward more seasonal norms.

Highs on Monday may touch 80 degrees but will be only in the upper 60s on Tuesday. Winds will be gusty out of the south early on Monday, blowing steadily in the teens and pushing past 20 mph in gusts prior to the cold front’s arrival, forecasters say.

Once the front moves through, winds will be light out of the north on Tuesday, staying primarily in single digits.

Wednesday is shaping up to be sunny, with highs in the upper 60s.
