Now this is more like August in the Sunflower State.
Thursday will be hot and humid in the Wichita area, with temperatures climbing to the low to mid-90s on a mostly cloudy day, forecasters say. Winds will be out of the southeast, strengthening this afternoon with gusts approaching 30 miles an hour.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible early Friday morning, including during the morning commute. Highs on Friday will back off to the upper 80s as skies gradually clear, forecasters say.
But there’s another chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday night. The weekend should be sunny and pleasant, with highs in the 80s.
