Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the morning and again in the evening in the Wichita area, forecasters say.

While severe weather is not anticipated, some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Highs are projected to be in the low 80s, with south winds occasionally pushing above 20 miles an hour.

Overnight showers and thunderstorms are possible as well, forecasters say, with rain chances Wednesday not ending until afternoon. Highs are expected to creep into the low 90s. Winds will be light and variable.

Thursday should be hotter still, with highs in the 90s under mostly sunny skies.
