Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the Wichita area today, forecasters say.
Highs should reach the mid-90s under mostly sunny skies, with south winds in the teens and gusting to nearly 30 miles an hour. After overnight lows in the mid-70s, Friday should be similar: a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms and highs in the mid-90s.
Saturday looks sunny and hot, forecasters say, with highs in the upper 90s, before chances for precipitation return on Sunday and persist for the next several days.
But a cool-down arrives Monday, with temperatures topping out in the low 90s.
