Wichita weather: Hot and windy Wednesday

It’ll be a hot, windy day in the Wichita area – and much of the rest of Kansas, for that matter.

Highs in the Wichita area will be in the mid- to upper 90s, forecasters say, with south-southwest winds gusting to more than 30 mph at times. Overnight lows will only drop to the mid-70s, and Thursday will offer a similar dose of summer.

Highs will be in the upper 90s with abundant sunshine and south-southwest winds gusting into the mid-20s. Chances for showers and thunderstorms arrive Thursday night, forecasters say, and the front delivering the precipitation will also provide cooler temperatures Friday and through the weekend.
