Wichita weather: Showers remain in forecast

The rains stayed away from Wichita on Wednesday, but forecasters are still calling for a good chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday.

Accordingly, skies will be mostly cloudy and it will be notably cooler than earlier in the week, forecaster say. Highs are projected to reach only the low 70s, with winds out of the north-northwest and gusty. Steady breezes will be in the teens, with gusts approaching 30 mph.

Lows Thursday night will dip into the 40s, forecasters say, and those northerly winds won’t ease much.

Friday ushers in a stretch of sunny weather, with highs in the upper 60s. The weekend offers more sunshine and highs in the 70s.
