Wichita and much of Kansas will see temperatures climb near 100 again on Wednesday — but then rain and cooler temperatures begin working their way into the region, forecasters say.
Highs are projected to reach 98 for the second straight day in Wichita, with sunny skies and south winds in the teens. Clouds begin moving in tonight, bringing chances for rain that will increase as the weekend arrives.
Temperatures will be in the mid-90s on Thursday but the low 80s on Friday and through the weekend. The Wichita branch of the National Weather Service is projecting the metropolitan area will receive between 1 and 2 inches of rain by Friday night.
