Wichita weather: Slight chances for showers and thunderstorms over the next few days

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in the Wichita area over the next few days, forecasters say.

Highs will approach 80 on Tuesday, with mostly cloudy skies and gusty south-southeasterly winds. Steady breezes will be in the teens, with gusts topping 25 mph.

Wednesday will again be mostly cloudy as highs reach the upper 70s, forecasters say. South winds will ease a bit, with gusts nudging into the 20s.

Thursday will see more sunshine, forecasters say, with highs pushing into the low 80s and chances for showers persisting. Overnight lows will settle into the upper 50s each night.
