Thursday will offer a break in the clouds for the Wichita area, forecasters say.
Highs should reach the mid-60s on a mostly sunny day, with light north winds staying primarily in the single digits. The reprieve from rain is short-lived, however, with showers and thunderstorms returning to the forecast early Friday morning and continuing through at least Tuesday.
The National Weather Service is projecting a half-inch or more to fall in the Wichita area Friday and Saturday, with higher amounts expected close to the Oklahoma border.
Highs will be in the 60s Friday and Saturday, the 70s on Sunday and Monday.
