Map reflects widespread rain in Wichita area

Wichita managed to dodge the heaviest rain that fell in the region late Tuesday and early Wednesday, as this map generated by the National Weather Service demonstrates.

Rainfall totals in general were lower than initially anticipated, which is good news for a region that has logged a lot of moisture over the past few weeks. But Wichita’s .72 of an inch is still a meaningful amount.

Still more rain is expected between Friday and Tuesday, making for a wet Memorial Day weekend.
