A warm, breezy day for Wichita will be capped by a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, forecasters say.
Highs will be in the low 90s, with south winds intensifying from the teens to the mid-20s and gusting to nearly 35 mph. Storms are even more likely in the evening, forecasters say, with temperatures dipping to the low 70s overnight. Southerly winds will ease only slightly during the overnight hours.
Chances for showers will continue through Wednesday morning, forecasters say. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with highs climbing only a few degrees from the overnight low. Winds will shift from the west to the north in the morning, blowing steadily in the teens and gusting to nearly 30 mph.
Thursday should see sunshine return, but highs will be only in the upper 60s.
