Wichita-area residents will have several opportunities later this spring to learn more about severe weather in Tornado Alley.

Sedgwick County Emergency Management will hold 20 educational sessions in small towns around the county, beginning Feb. 26 in Valley Center. The free two-hour sessions are patterned after the Storm Fury on the Plains presentations being hosted throughout southeast Kansas by the National Weather Service.

Residents can expect to learn about storm patterns and how to protect themselves from harm.

Most sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. The sessions around the county will continue into late April, officials say.
